Luisa avilés

Education Program Manager

Luisa Avilés brings more than a decade of experience in early childhood education, curriculum development, instructional coaching, and professional learning.

Before joining DAE, Luisa was the Early Childhood/Arts Integration Specialist for Professional Development at the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, where she designed and facilitated training for teaching artists. She has also served as Director of Teaching and Learning at Mundo Verde Public Charter School and held instructional coaching roles focused on STEM and inquiry-based learning.

As a former bilingual classroom teacher, Luisa’s work is rooted in a deep understanding of child development and a passion for using the arts as a powerful way to support learning. She is dedicated to creating meaningful educational experiences that spark creativity, curiosity, and joyful learning for children, educators, and communities alike. Drawing on her strengths in program planning and implementation and building collaborative partnerships, Luisa works to ensure that arts-integrated initiatives are impactful, accessible, and responsive to the needs of schools and communities.
